Course Outcome

By successfully completing this pest control course, students will have the ability to comprehensively apply their knowledge and skill across the operations of the pest business. 


Completing students will be issued a nationally recognised Certificate. With their certification, students may apply to their state licencing authority for pest technician licensing. 

Mode of Assessment

The course units are assessed individually through the online portal, and consist of:

  • Theory: Questions
  • Application: Case Study
  • Practical: Video Assessment
  • Student logbook (PT): 25 pest inspections and treatments (completed under a licensed supervisor)
  • Student logbook (TPM): 10 pest inspections and min 1 treatment (completed under an accredited supervisor)

Course Entry

All students must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number and may be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Work Placement

To ensure our students can apply their pest control course training in an industry environment, Rapid Training requires all students to either be employed or have pre-arranged and documented work placement*, under a licenced technician.

*A letter or email, from the licenced/accredited technician must be provided to confirm work placement.

CPPPMT3018 Maintain equipment and pesticide storage area in pest management vehicles


2 – Timber Pest Manager
CPPPMT3008 Inspect for and report on timber pests
CPPPMT3010 Control timber pests


3 – Remaining
CPPPMT3004 Respond to enquiries and complaints
CPPPMT3002 Assess, advise on options, and develop pest management plans for complex or high-risk operations
CPPPMT3007 Implement pest management plans for complex or high-risk operations
CPPPMT3017 Maintain, service and repair pest management equipment
CPPPMT3026 Select pest management vehicle and equipment
CPPPMT3043 Prepare and present pest management proposals for complex or high-risk operations
CPPPMT3019 Organise and monitor pest management operations
CPPPMT3029 Plan and schedule pest management operations

All required pest control course materials are contained on our online training portal comprising of interactive and engaging content.


For additional support and reference, it is recommended that students purchase the following textbooks: “Urban Pest Management in Australia” and “Australian Termites”. 


Pest control course students also access monthly webinars hosted by our industry trainers, which cover course topics and allow for Q&A. Students can email trainers anytime for support or direction.

NSW Government Subsidy

Students must meet the traineeship eligibility requirements under the Smart and Skilled Entitlement Apprenticeships and Traineeships program to receive this subsidy.​
